President’s Letter: Sharing Tony Hsieh’s Optimism

Letter from Dallas Haun

On May 13th, I had the pleasure of joining Tony Hsieh and Fred Mossler of Zappos for a nice lunch at La Comida restaurant in downtown Las Vegas.  It’s easy to understand why Tony has been applauded by so many people for his many contributions, both philanthropically and to the business community, not only in downtown Las Vegas, but throughout Clark County.

During lunch, Tony articulated, as he always does, an interesting vision of downtown as an incubator for entrepreneurs, not only from tech sectors, but from all kinds of businesses. One cannot help but respect and get excited about Tony’s vision for our downtown.  We concluded our lunch by walking a few blocks in and around his recent acquisitions while he explained, with specifics, his vision for the future.

Nevada State Bank remains committed to supporting initiatives that encourage entrepreneurial capitalism, as part of our overall efforts to assist the small business community. As Nevada’s oldest and largest state-chartered bank, we have served entrepreneurs, professionals and consumers for more than 50 years, and we look forward to continuing that legacy of service into the future.

My two hours with Tony reaffirmed my belief that the best days for Nevada and Las Vegas are still ahead of us.

Best Regards,

Dallas Haun
