Letter from Dallas Haun
Last February, in my letter to you, I announced the opening of our eight centers devoted to the needs of small-business owners. Now, seven months later, please allow me to give you an update and to boast a little. Since the beginning of 2011, loan applications have soared and fundings through September 9 have increased by more than 500 percent over the same period last year. Through our combined efforts bank-wide, we have provided funding to over 200 small businesses. This success is due directly to the initiative, teamwork, and expertise of my colleagues, who are giving top-notch service to our small-business clients.
To single out just one success story as an example, Marge Millar, branch service manager at our West Liberty Business Center in Reno, reports that a business client who was retiring referred the new owner to us, and a banking relationship that started with business accounts has expanded to include treasury management, merchant services, a Business Redi-Reserve line of credit, and a personal home loan. The client said, “If you need a guy to do a commercial for you, I’m your man.” When we hear that level of satisfaction expressed, we know that we have done our job.
At our small-business centers, we aim to build a banking relationship step by step.
First, we solve the client’s immediate needs. Then, we focus on discovering additional opportunities to help the client achieve his or her financial goals. In each center are staff with specific expertise in small-business lending, treasury management, and Executive Banking, all brought together in one place for convenient “one-stop shopping.” Six centers are located in the Las Vegas area, one each in our Bridger, Rainbow, Rhodes, Warm Springs, Maryland, and Twain branches; in northern Nevada, in addition to the West Liberty center in Reno, there is one in our North Carson branch.
