Letter from Dallas Haun
Hello! Welcome to my first online letter for Nevada State Bank. I am excited about this opportunity to share news with you and offer my ideas on what is happening in the local economy and at the bank.
As you may know, Nevada State Bank recently celebrated our 50th anniversary, and since our founding in 1959 we have played an important role in helping the communities we serve – through donations, through the volunteer efforts of our employees, and in advocating for financial education. Over the three years since I joined Nevada State Bank, our commitment to family and community has been a source of special satisfaction to me.
Each year, our 800+ employees donate many hundreds of hours of their personal time to community service. I am personally proud to have served as state chairman of the 2010 March of Dimes campaign and look forward to doing so again in 2011.
The bank supports the Communities in Schools breakfast programs, Junior Achievement, United Way, Habitat for Humanity, American Heart Association and scores of other events, organizations, and institutions throughout the state. During the recent holiday season, we co-sponsored toy and food drives to help needy Nevada families, and more than 40 of our staff members donated their time to help out at Opportunity Village’s Magical Forest, a holiday festival and fundraiser to assist people with intellectual disabilities.
While 2010 was challenging economically, we remain confident and committed to Nevada’s future. As we begin the new year, we are already seeing signs of improvement. Nevada State Bank continues to help Nevada and its residents recover and rebuild.
In future letters, I will discuss economic and financial developments, and give my thoughts on how readers can take advantage of them. I will also point the way to resources you might find helpful for your family and your business.
I’m looking forward to providing valuable information and insights you can use.
