President’s Letter March 1, 2011

March 1, 2011
Letter from Dallas Haun

Dear Friends,

“Small business is the engine that drives job creation.” Behind that simple claim lies a complicated challenge. To succeed in a small business requires innovative ideas, drive, dedication, capital, and business expertise. Over 80 percent of all small businesses fold within the first year, most often because their owners underestimated the costs involved.

At Nevada State Bank, we are committed to the success of small-business owners, so on March 1 we are opening eight business centers devoted to their needs. Each center will house staff with specific expertise in small-business lending, treasury management, and Executive Banking, all brought together in one place for convenient “one-stop shopping.”

Six centers will be located in the Las Vegas area – in our Bridger, Rainbow, Rhodes Ranch, Warm Springs, Maryland, and Twain branches.  In northern Nevada, we are opening business centers in our West Liberty branch in Reno and in our North Carson branch. Our goal is to make banking easy, so if you stop into any of our branches and ask to speak with a small-business banker, we will connect you with the right person to get the ball rolling.

Last fiscal year Nevada State Bank loaned over $38.5 million to 336 small businesses. This year, by streamlining services in our business centers, we aim to do better. As before, we promise 24-hour decision-making on loan applications. That engine of job creation I mentioned at the beginning?  It works best on the right fuel and with proper maintenance. We are here to help that happen.

Best Regards,

Dallas Haun
President and CEO
Nevada State Bank
