Would you like to take control of your money and enjoy a more secure financial future?
Nevada State Bank is a sponsor of an upcoming event to give Nevada women an opportunity to discuss financial realities, build their knowledge of money and finances, and create success strategies. The Women’s Money™ Council and the Nevada State Treasurer have come together to create the Nevada Women’s Money Conference, which will be held in Las Vegas on Saturday, June 2 and in Reno on Saturday, June 9.
Both events will feature dynamic presentations by women authors, celebrities, and experts in the fields of money management, investments, and financial education. Each attendee will be seated at a table of her peers where she can build meaningful relationships through safe and open discussion. Each table will be headed by a mentor who will assist and consult with each person to guide her through her own personal Women’s Money Guidebook.
As an attendee, you will learn how to:
• Reduce your financial stress
• Feel confident with money matters
• Fix your credit
• Pay off your debt
• Maximize your income
• Save for college and retirement
• Develop a financial support network
• Build a secure financial future
The Women’s Money Council provides women with programs to foster their financial independence. According to its website (womensmoney.org), women face distinct financial realities — they live longer than men, spend more years in retirement, and are more likely to take time out of the workforce to tend to their families. Although women account for two-thirds of household breadwinners, on average they earn 76 cents for every dollar earned by men. Women account for 85% of all consumer purchases, buy 60% of all cars, own 40% of all stocks, and start 70% of new U.S. businesses. These statistics point out the need for women to educate themselves about ways to maximize their income, spend wisely, and invest for the future.
An impressive lineup of speakers is planned for each event. Keynote speaker for the Las Vegas conference is Vicki Gunvalson, star of “The Real Housewives of Orange County,” author of More Than a Housewife, and founder of one of the most successful insurance agencies and financial services companies in the United States. The Reno conference will feature Liza Mundy, Washington Post staff writer and author of the best-selling book, The Richer Sex: How the New Majority of Female Breadwinners is Transforming Sex, Love, and Family.
Registration of $50 per person includes admission to all speaker and discussion sessions and a Resource Expo, plus morning coffee, luncheon and afternoon tea networking sessions. In addition, each attendee will receive a complimentary copy of Women’s Money Guidebook, a tool for implementing the actionable ideas and information from the conference.
